Delete PLC HW config

But i wrongly set the both speed to 500Kbps. now i could not connect my laptop using pc adapter to my plc. How do i reset/delete the PLC HW config. I do not have a spare MMC. thanks in advance

legacy support Silver Member Joined: 7/15/2008 Last visit: 7/13/2023 Posts: 382 Rating: (44)	Hello Sulung I am assuming you have a CP5512 PCCard to communicate with the PLC .If yes , setyour PG\PLC Interface to 500kbaud and go Online with one of the DP Channels and Download the new Hardware configuration with thechanged Baudrate for the other DPChannel.

You can connect it to MPI port and go to Set PG/PC interface to PC adapter Auto or also in this case connect it to DP port It will work! reconfigure your boudrate and download it. I do not know If you are really using PC adapter or not, Please tell us. Regards,

Well, the resetting operation starts with ... Remove the SIMATIC Micro Memory Card from the CPU. But what happens if I put back the MMC into the CPU? (...since it can't work without a MMC) I couldn't find any description as to how to delete the contents of a MMC without the need to go online with the CPU. So the big question is, how to reset a CPU (including the MMC) if one can't communicate with it? Regards Boti

A MRES on a CPU with MMC will not clear HW config. You will have to use a PG to clear MMC or use Step7 todelete blocks manuallyit my going online with PLC. I would do that and then perform the factory reset procedure given by Wizard

What i need is to delete all the data in the MMC. I tried to do the hw reset, but once i put in my MMC, all of the configuration are transfer into the CPU. I still could not connect my plc to my laptop.

It will only change it, if the system data on the MMC is valid and has a other parametration. If you have Firmware 2.5 or higher you can use this. Just try it, if you are lucky you are back in the race. If you have a older firmware, you must reprogram the MMC. First: Watch the warning in this FAQ! You can reprogram the MMC - online with a S7-300 CPU and CP5512 (PCMCIA)or CP 5611(PCI) or - offline with the USB-programer or a SIMATIC PC (with MMC slot). If you know anybody, who has a Field-PG ask him to make a SIMATIC project with you CPU with MPI speed 187,5 kBit/s, compile it and copy it to the MMC. If you know anybody, who has a s7-300 CPU with PROFINET, you can use the online reprogramming using Ethernet instead of MPI.
