B#16#53  ==> character 'S' in hexadecimal notation
B#16#4F  ==> character 'O in hexadecimal notation
B#16#31  ==> character '1' in hexadecimal notation

Means that the local TSAP = 'ISO1'
In the same structure there is a value (local_tsap_len) that tells how long the TSAP is.
In this example 4 characters long.

If you would have chosen another text, you code the hex values of the text in the array of bytes,
and you change the length.

What is important:
- you can choose the local TSAP (max 16 char), but better keep it unique PLC wide
- but the partner must use your local TSAP as being the remote TSAP he must connect to.
- the same apply in the other direction (partner rlocal Tsap connects to your local tsap).
- so that you have a king of crossing.

To keep it simple both partners can use the same value for the local and the remote TSAP on both sides (to avoid crossing problems), as long as the value remains unique in a given system.

As the comment also tells, some systems might want the TSAP to start with E0, 02, followed by some furhter ascii characters.
E0 02  refers to an extended TSAP pointing to rack 0, slot 2, to specify the endpoint of the connection.

An example:
- Local TSAP extension : TCP-1
- Extended TSAP hex notation: E0 02 54 43 50 2D 31
- TSAP length: 7

B#16# is a format indicator, telling that the value is a byte (b#) and that the value 49 is to be understood as a hexadecimal number(16#).

ASCII characters (text) are stored in the PLC as bytes.
49 in hexademal is 0100 1001 in bit notation, or 73 in decimal notation.
But it can also be understood as the notation of the text charachter 'I'  (capital I).

You can find a table mapping ASCII to DEC and HEX on Internet.

A TSAP is composed of an array of bytes, that can be text.
Can you choose the bytes, the text? Yes.
But as told before, both partners must agree on the chosen bytes.
Because the bytes indentify the connection.
You can understand the TSAP as a kind of connection endpoint name.

I took the sample program from the above link and I have changed the HW config. as per my Two PLCs(CPU417-4, CP443-1, CP443-1) and the same program downloaded into the PLCs.

But the connection is not established and the TCON status is 7000.

Could you help us to establish the communication.

Hello Sankar,
If you have two CP443-1, you have chosen a complicated path to connect both systems in ISO-on-TCP.

Just open netpro, configure a connection in ISO-on-TCP between both systems.
Download connection to both systems.
And use AG-SEND/AG-RECV in your program.

FB14 and FB15 are for S7 connections, where FC50 and FC60 are for ISO-on-TCP.
When you create a conenction in Netrpo, S7 is proposed by default, but in the drop box you can select other connection types.

If you want to use Open IE blocks anyway (TCON, TSEND, ...) over a CP (works only for S7-400),
you must also change the local_device_id in the configuration block to B#16#00
Which "local_device_id" do you parameterize in order to establish a connection with FB65 "TCON" for Open User Communication (OUC) via Industrial Ethernet?

For ISO-on-TCP you must use the extended The TSAPs notation, with
- first byte = B#16#E0
- second byte = B#16#0s   where 's' is the slot number of the CPU (in a s7-400, the CPU can be in slot 2 or 3 for instance, see HW config).
- 3rd and following bytes are optional (TSAP length = 2) or some extra char like 'ISO1' (Length set accordingly, max 16 bytes in total).

One side must have active_est = True, the other side must have it set to false.

Verify also that your CP (its FW version and model) is OK to support the open IE bloks.
(at least 1EX40 or 1EX20/GX20 and not older models)
