I notice after I work with a project, the Scout "U7bt04ax.exe" process remains even after trying to set the objects to "nothing" How can I kill the "APP" object once I am done? Sample code: Sub Main() Dim APP As SIMOTIONLib.Application APP = CreateObject("Simotion.Application") Dim PROJ As SIMOTIONLib.Project PROJ = APP.Projects("C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Step7\S7Proj\myProj\myProj.s7p") MsgBox(APP.Installation.Version) PROJ.Build() PROJ = Nothing APP = Nothing MsgBox("killed?") End Sub After using it, the u7 simotion process is still active (Scout running in the background) I notice the SimotionLib.Application does not support the Dispose() method. How can I kill the process cleanly?

Have a look at: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/893237/how-to-terminate-process-using-vbscript You have to replace `'Process.exe'` by 'u7bt04ax.exe'

Is there a better method I should be employing to open the scout instance and project instead of using the "CreateObject()" where I don't need to kill scout when the project is closed? How can I at least ensure the project is closed before I kill the process?

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 6009 Rating: (827)	Hello, to open a scout instance you should use: Dim projectpath as String Dim APP as Object Set APP = CreateObject("Simotion.Application") 'visible = false -> Scout opens in background / visible = true -> opens in foreground APP.Workbench.Visible = False 'open a project in the workbench APP.Workbench.WBProject.Open (projectpath) 'close a project in the workbench APP.Workbench.WBProject.Close If you need further information about scripting, you can also use the scout internal help.
