Dear Experts, I am going to develop a SCADA system which will integrate mutiple S7-400 systems at field level. Each S7-400 has its own CP441. communication protocol shall be IEC870-5-101. I was a little confused when i studied 2 architectures that is attached below. Please help me to findout: 1- which is the correct system architecture? 2- Shall i need a S7-400 at control center as IEC870-5-101 master? If yes, how many CPs does it need? One CP at all or One CP per S7-400 at field? 3- In the attachment No.1, we see a PLC set as IEC870-5-101 master and three RTUs as slave. If this is correct, where is the master in attachment No.2 diagram? 4- If the master exists, it will integrate all slaves at field via serial link and transmit data to SCADA's Ethernet via its CP443. Is that true? 5- If there is no master, then a "serial to Ethernet" switch/converter will be needed to integrate whole system. Is that true? PLEASE HELP! Splitted from IEC 870-5-101 Connection.
