Diagnose Repeater connection without CPU

I would like to know with wich software and how can I connect to the diagnose repeater to see the diagnose messages. My configuration is a FANUC PLC witha SIEMENS diagnose repeater on PROFIBUS network. Thanks

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 6/6/2023 Posts: 12036 Rating: (2595)	Hello seb; Here is a quick description of the Siemens diagnostics repeater that could help you understand your requirements: Diagnostics RepeaterThe diagnostics repeater for PROFIBUS DP connects PROFIBUS DP segments with RS 485 technology. It also physically monitors the copper bus lines in online mode. If an error occurs, it sends a diagnostic message to the DP master with detailed information on the type and location of the error. The diagnostics repeater is a standard slave. It can be operated on any DP master that supports the standard RD_REC and WR_REC services. To record the topology, you will need either STEP 7 or COM PROFIBUS. https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/distributed-io/en/profibus-components/bus-diagnostics/Pages/Default.aspx?HTTPS=REDIR When you see a decription of "standard services RD_REC and WR_REC" Siemens is describing DPV1 acyclic functions. If your DP master supports DPV1 then you should be able to request the diagnostic messages from the repeater. So, first step is to determine if your master actuallysupports DPV1. Can you tell us what model your NCU is using? Second step is to locate the Diagnostic Repeater manual o find out how the RD_REC and WR_REC functions work with it. There is a simple data structure for some general information via DP V0 available, but the most information you will get using DPV1 acyclic communication. You have to read different records from this device. Depends on the information you want have you have to read different records.
