Hi all experts I have one project which having one Server (with WinCC7.1 and Step7 5.4) and one SCALANCE X208, which links to 3 S7-300 PLCs via fiberoptic and SCALANCE X204-2. 1) I planned to do the diagnostic (redundant power supply failure, system error) and display the communication status (which port is OK or Fail) of SCALANCE X208 on the WinCC. I'm planning to use SNMP OPC Server for monitoring the X208. Is this a good choice? And do I have to purchase the SNMP OPC Server ? 2) Moreover, if I wat to do the diagnostic for 6 items of SCALANCE X204-2 which are in the lower layer. Can I do the diagnostic and display the information on WinCC? Best Regards anuchisa AttachmentDraft Scalance Network Architecture.pdf (364 Downloads) |

Hello, 1) An alternative is the usage of RSE (Report System Error). RSE doesn't give not exactly the same information or doesn't present it in the same way as SNMP. First step is to integrate the switches in the HWconfig of a PLC, by connecting them to the Profinet network of that PLC. The switches will behave like Profinet IO-devices. In the settings of the switches in Step7 you can set each individual port to "monitor", which means that a change in the link will cause the call of a diagnostic OB. Second step is to generate the RSE program blocs by running the wizard in HWconfig (see options ==> report system errors). And to load the generated blocs in the PLC (+PLC restart). RSE also generates alarm texts for visualisation. Third step is to integrate the alarm messages in WinCC. This is explained here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22727527 A useful document to look at is this one: Diagnostic Methods for PROFINET Network Components (PROFINET IO, SNMP, WBM) http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21566216 2) Regarding the OS choice, you can use both (XP or Win7). But the SNMP OPC CD2008 is required for XP (this version does not support Win7) And the CD 8.x is required for Win7 (and is not OK for XP). Therefore my comment to order the correct item. |
