Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	I am not sure such software is available and IMO it is highly unlikely. You can troubleshoot by looking at the LED's on the front panel. Which "device" are we talking about? Look for the appropriate manual: S5 Manuals for Download Regards

pelda Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, its Simatic S5 115U CPU 944. When i turn it on, QV and BA are glowing red ST is blinking, also red. Other diods are off. Is it ok?And could you recommend me some literature or some manual for simatic S5 please? I'm total begginer, but i would like to learn something about it (programming of modules, etc.).Thank you for your answer.

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	See section 5.1.3 LED Error Signaling in the following manual: S5-115U Programmable Controller Also, the above manual contains a chapter Introduction to STEP5 and this is as good a place as any to start learning S5. Now, coming back to your LED displays, QVZ and BASP are normal. Is the STOP LED flickering or flashing (slower)? If it is flickering during CPU self-test, the module is defective. Regards

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	If the CPU is damaged you'll not be able to go online. On the other hand if you are able to go online the problem is of a temporary nature like no program present on memory corrupt. An overall reset with complete program transfer will fix this... When you first power-up the rack all LED's will light up for a short while. If at this instant the STOP LED starts flickering then the module is defective. Regards

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Flickering means flashing at higher frequency. Unfortunately the frequency is not mentioned anywhere in the manual. From the video I cannot decide whether it is flashing or flickering! In any case did you try going online? If you can, please program an empty OB1 with only BE statement. With cold restart the CPU should go to run mode (if it is OK). See chapters 2.5 and 5. Regards
