difference between 095 cpu

I have doubt whether they can replace each other, is it true? maybe you also have the products manual to be sahred? for i cant found it yet in siemens website. Am i right to think that : the CPU with master Profibus DP could be changed into slave, while the slave version could not be changed into master? thank for your attention and my best regards

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 5/26/2023 Posts: 2965 Rating: (1025)	Hello simatix assuming you do NOT use the onboard DP port of the 95U for anything you can replace a6ES5095-8ME02 (95U with onboard Profibus DP master Interface)witha 6ES5095-8MD03 (95U with onboard DP slave interface) and vice versa. If you do however use the onboard DP port of the 95U for anything, you can NOT directly replace one with the other. Having said that,you could replace a 6ES5095-8MD03 (95U with onboard DP slave interface) with a 6ES5095-8ME02 (95U with onboard Profibus DP master Interface), add a DP/DP coupler to its interface, configure the 95U for the DP/DP coupleras well as reconfigure the DP Master of the system to keep the data exchange between the two the same.
