difference between MMCs

S7-400 have two types, RAM "Long Type" or Flash EPROM "Long Type" For Old S7-300, there was memery cards type but nof for the same of S7-400. (it was shorter than S7-400 type). And these memory cards became obsolete. Now S7-300 needs MMC. Hope this helps.

Hello a.z.r, You can use the MC for S7-400 in S7-300 but not vice versa because it not comes to the internal connector of the CPU , what Marcjan says about the cover , as the MC for S7-400 it is longest of that for S7 300 protrudes from the slot

Please note that S7400 Memory cards have different dimensions than that for S7-300. For S7-300, Dimensions: WxHxD in (mm) = 7 x 57 x 45 mm Please see second link bellow: For S7-400, Dimensions: WxHxD in (mm) = 7,5 x 57 x 87 mm. In any case, although Siemens stop buying old S7-300 memory cards, you can purshase memory cards compatible with S7-300 old CPUs from "Process-Informatik" http://www.process-informatik.de/produkte/speichermodule&mt=1
