Hello umang; Ten years ago, the difference between the 2 families would have been evident: the S7-400 was considered a high-end controller, with higher processing speeds.larger number of I/Os.more communication interfaces and specialized modules than the mid-level S7-300. Today, these differences have been largely reduced. The newer S7-300 CPUs have comparable processing power and can use networks (Profibus and Profinet) to extend the number of controlled I/Os. The only remaining factors distinguishing the two families are Hot Redundancy (S7-400H Systens) and PCS 7 (which is based on the S7-400 processors); thés features are not as easily available for the S7-300. There are many threads on the subject on the forum, search for them for further details. Here is one: Difference between S7-400 and S7-300 https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ca/en/posts/32342 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
