For writing / reading The SIMATIC Memory Card with the PG / PC is only a standard SD card reader necessary. You can place files directly on the Windows Explorer to SIMATIC memory card. The SIMATIC memory card is absolutely necessary for the operation of the CPU. MMC (S7-300): Special File-System, not Windows compatible - you need special USB Prommer or Field PG to read / write Data. The SIMATIC Micro Memory Card is absolutely necessary for the operation of the CPU. For some IO-Devices you need it to store PN-Name on it. Regards, Towome

You can create for booth type offline card data which can be copy on the card and plug in the plc. both cards are load memory of the PLC. What exactly you mean with the Upload/download? How do you create the project data for the SMC so that you can download the project to the S7-1200/S7-1500 CPU even without STEP 7 (TIA Portal)? Regards, Towome

Regards Christoph Sorry ChristophD, what i want to know is,Does Simatic Memory Card Make any difference while uploading programme from or to PLC ( in S71500/S71200 PLC ) as compare to Normal Micro Memory Card (Which Is Use for S7300). and what is the Basic difference between them,Why we not use Micro Memory Card in S7 1500 insted of using Simatic Memory Card.

The MMC Spezificationis old and outdated, so it make no sense to use this old technology in a new developed PLC. Regards Christoph
