Difference between x1p1r and normal x1p1port

fritz Diamond Member Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/28/2023 Posts: 2988 Rating: (1034)	Hello ptakkar@tenaris have a look at the technical spec of your particular S7-1500 CPU and you'll see the following (example for6ES7518-4AP00-0AB0): The CPU has three logical Ethernet ports (X1, X2 and X3), each can have it's own IP address. X1 is further set apart from X2 and X3 by the following: 1.)It has an in-built two port switch 2.) It can be used as PROFINET IO Controller and/or PROFINET IO Device Why it suffixed by "r"?: Well, I supposeto indicate its(PROFINET IO)Real time capability asit supports PROFINET IO RT as well as IRT(or because it is a Really special port as it has a two port switch, perhaps someone out there knows for sure). I am assuming that x1p1 and x1p2 ports are to be used for MRP because they have same IP address where as X2 and X3 will be having different IPs and would be considered as diffetent devices.
