Digital Sensor as analog input

Mohmmed Saleh Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Dears, Ihave a problem with frequency analog sensor(0-10 V) which causing my system to stop. still we have a speed sensor 0-100V and 0-5.3 KHz. Icreated a software network which can scale the number of pulses to corresponding analog value i tested and its working properly. what all my concern is.......... is there a digital input module powerful enough to withstand such a signal 100 v and 5.3 KHz in S7-300 family by the way the sensor is based on Hall Effect. i hope anyone with such experince can help me out solving this challenge Thanks in Advance Muhammad Saleh

You may need to build your own circuit using opto-coupler. Hope this helps.

The high speed inputs either in CPU31x or in FM350-1 or FM350-2 accept only 24V DC or 5V DC. This speed sensor needs to be connected to an amplifier first. This amplifier can have 4-20mA output to be connected to the PLC.

There are so many sensors are available in market with low voltage & the High freq as you required. so you can use that. Is there any specific reason to go for 100V only?

RKM Posts: 93 Rating: (13)	Dear Mohmmed Saleh, You have to use intermediate circuit to convert 100VDC to 12/24/05 VD prefarably 24VDC ,because HSC uses 24 VDC .also this intermediate circuitery should have fast switching speed to convert pulses from 5.1 KHz signal. Optocoupler would be easier option for such use. Search this kind of circuit in google. Regards, RKM

Or you can tell us manufacture and part number here.
