DIGSI 4 installation conundrum

dougt Advanced Member Joined: 10/14/2009 Last visit: 8/16/2024 Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	I am at a customer's site, and they have purchased a copy of DIGSI 4 version 4.83. They cannot load it onto their laptops, since they have Windows 7, 64 bit. They asked me to load it to my laptop since I have Win XP SP3 32 bit, but I have version 7.5 of Step 7, which includes CFC V7.1. Version 4.83 of DIGSI requires CFC Verson 7.0, so it displays an error message telling me to install CFC V7.0, and cancels the installation. While downloading version 4.84 of DIGSI, I notice that the download requires a previous version of DIGSI to be installed, so I doubt that I will be able to install DIGSI 4.84. Is there any way out of this conundrum? Thanks, Doug

The version you are downloading is an upgrade from version 4.83. Registered users can order the DVD free or charge with MLFB 7XS5490-0AA00. Mike

The 4.84 disk might help me to install it on my laptop for them, whenever it arrives. Since they also have 64 bit Windows 7, I think they might have to wait for another version, or buy another laptop. I was mainly looking for a workaround so that we could get these relays working correctly as soon as possible. Doug

I deleted the empty Step 7 key in the registry, which allowed me to install 4.83. Then I installed all the devices. Installed the 4.84 update, which un-installed v4.83. Then I installed the Microwin V4 SP9. We uploaded a configuration form an existing Siprotec relay that we would like to change the mapping on. The mapping pulldown only has "none" and "Device specific..." choices. I tired to install all the devices from the 4.83 disk ( the 4.84 download did not have a choice to install devices. They seemed to install, but no help. Then I downloaded the update to the device I am testing on first ( 7SJ62.. ) and there was still no change to the selections available for the "Device Mapping" pulldown menu. Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to have choices in the "Device Mapping" pulldown menu? Best Regards, Doug

When Digsi is installed with Step7, you have to toggle between Topological view to Component View (I don't remember which one is for Digsi)in order to have all functionalites from Digsi. Mike
