Dinamic Visibility of layers.

I read about it not being possible to assign two tags to the Visibility property of an object and that there's no workaround that for Basic Panels. However I was thinking is there a way to make layers become visible or not depending on the value of a bit tag, this way allowing for the possibility to make an object visible if both its tag and its layer's are on? By reading related threads I grew to believe that there isn't a way, but i want to check if the layers approach could solve it. Please forgive me if I may not have placed this thread in its proper location, but in my defense I did not have enough time at all to read the forum rules. I forgot to mention that the HMI i'm working with is a KP300, and I am using Wincc Basic. If anybody has any ideas please let me know.

Dear CristiRacolciuc, in basic panels it is not possible to use scripts, hence it is not possible to change a visibility state depending on multiple smarttags. Changing the visibility state of a layer depending on tags is also not possible in runtime. But there is a way and you know about it... let your PLC handle the logic and use one tag to change the visibility state. It might not be the approach you were wishing for but it is the only way (with basic panels). Kind regards, Jens

It would sure help me if I knew 100% what you want to achieve. An image of before and after would have been nice. There are other options you could look at. [1] Text or Graphic Lists. You could there have multiple bits or range set between different text or graphic options. You could have a blank text or picture as one of the selections. [2] Colour dinamics For text you can have a value (bit or range) select text colours. The text colour could match the background colour. [3] Groups You can not work with layer dinamics but you can group a selection of objects as one group and have a common dinamic for that group. It does however not extend the reach of the visibility that is still a range. [4] Movement Have a blank image or block move over an area you wish to hide. Look at these rough ideas. With more detail from you (visual = best) we could surely give more direction. Helpful? w

In the end I got convinced there is no way for me to link the Visibility property to a combo of two tags within the Sw/Hw limitations that I have. Ultimately I chose to implement the logic into the PLC and then feed it to the HMI, so that different tags are active dependig on the combination of statuses of the two tags that needed to be monitored.
