I need to connect a Diris A40 Profibus-DP slave to a Profibus-DP master such as a CPu 314C-2DP, So I need it's GSD file. I can't find on Socomec or Profibus GSD databse websites. Can you help?

When you need to insert a gsd file from a 3rd-party, you cannot have the Hardware Configuration accessing other files of this type. In other words, please close the project window ("Test" in this case), but leave the HWConfig window open (without open project). Then try to insert the new gsd file.

One this is done you can reopen the Test project window and continue with the Profibus configuration.

 I have closed the Simatic Manager but it didn't help and gives me the same error message.

When I look at the screenshot you have just posted, I see the hardware configuration window with the PLC rack, the Profibus slaves... Which means your project is open. As long as the project is open you cannot install a gsd file.

Please close the project! Use the Station menu or the smaller "X" symbol at the right of your page, the one that is on the icons line (not the larger one at the very top, this will close the HWConfig).

When the HWConfig window is open but the inside window (for the project) is blank, then try to insert your gsd file.

 it seems that the GSD file is corrupted as it gives me a different error message this time

Please follow Daniel & Christoph instruction to close your project. You need only HW config to be opened and close the project opened in it.

From Christoph's last suggested links, there seem to be 2 different Profibus-DP modules for the Diris A-40. Which model od Profibus interface do you have, precisely?

I have never had problems with imported gsd files before. Could you test the contents of the gsd file you downloaded, by trying to open it with Notepad or Wordpad? You should be able to read the contents of the files, a gsd file is simply a formatted  text file containing the slave parameters that the master can read in.

Dis you try to download and  insert each one of these gsd files?
