Display a Pdl using VBScript

waterguy Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	I'm new to WinCC ( as of Monday) so this may be a dumb question. How do I display a screen (Pdl) in VBScript? I have been able to animate items on the current screen and change the background but not change screens. This is part of a navigation system that we are converting from aproject that we did with a competitors product. We want to keep the code similar so that it is easy to maintain and it was writen in VBScript.

waterguy Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hi Danielle, I'm using the Graphics Designer to create screens(sample.Pdl)(I'm not sure if picture are the same as screens) and at the top I want to put an explore type navigation bar. I put the VB script in a project moudule usingthe global script editor. In that script I have an array that keeps track of the screens I goto. I use the navigation bar to move forward and back to screens that I have visited by indexing through that array. As the first step in getting this to work I just put a buttonon the screen that allows me to displaya screen using VB script. Here is some of the script I've tried Dim objScreen Set objScreen = HMIRuntime.Screens("SAMPLE") objScreen.Visible objScreen.Activate objScreen.Enabled

waterguy Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hi Danielle, After your question about picture window I did some searching through the manual and found the following code. HMIRuntime.BaseScreenName = "SAMPLE" This switches me from my current screen to the "SAMPLE" screen.I'm not sure if there isa better way or if I need to close the current screen prior to opening the "SAMPLE" screen.

Draw a Button Object, in the Configuration Dialog window that appears specify which picture to open, simple [8)] It creates a Direct Connection and not a VBS script. However one thing to know about WinCC isthis - it's always best to usestandard functionality wherever possible and limit the number of scripts you write. The more scripts, the bigger the margin for error. Just some friendly advice from someone who's seen many a WinCC project engineered the "wrong" way [:P]
