I have several screens in a KTP700 that I would like to display the name of the screen in a IO Field object each time the screen changes. Can I use a script to populate the object or better yet a PLC tag? I have played around with the scripting a bit but cannot get anything to work. Would anyone have any example code to do this?

Here another way

you can use a simple label_text (in template for example)
In property, miscellaneous, change the name by 'title automatically update' (for example)

Create a script :

When create a new screen, don't forget to add this script on event, loaded, you're done

The text from the label_text (named "title automatically update")  will automatically take the BaseScreenName in stringvalue
You don't have to "Use SetTag and Pass screen Name which want to show on screen,Setlect String in selection"

I have two languages in this project. Will it automatically translate the title to another language?

This worked for me.

1. I created a text field object and embedded an HMI tag.

2. Created a script to get the screen name.

3. Then added an event to my screen on the load that calls that script.

Whatever name you used for the screen is displayed.

It seems I need an array of string for Screen name. and assign each string array element to the Label_Text on each screen. and add it to the script for each array element.

I am wondering if the screen name will be automatically translated or there is a field I can type in.

I would use a text list and include the screen name in each language. Then embed that in a text object on the screen. Use the current screen number as the pointer for the text list. I believe you will have to provide the translation manually and include it in the list. There is a column for each language.

I have another quick question.

I saw you have the tag inside the Text field on previous screenshot.

<Tag:45, ScreenName> and ScreenName is a process tag.

What is the syntax or format to inert a process tag to a text field?
