Displaying values from a lookup table based on Analog input. (s7-1200)

Looking through the forum there are lots of responses of "just look up value in array" but no explanation how this is done. For my project I want to have two arrays for example: Speed Step 0 0 10 5 16 8 29 12 ...... ...... 5000 2288 The actual speed signal will be derived from either an analogue or via communication. Can I look up the step value from the speed index? Would then be done in SCL/STL?? What happens if the value is in-between index values?? I.e. speed = 20 what will step be?? If possible I need to do this in a 1200 PLC Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers

Cheers Please check the following link for a solution in SCL for S7-300.As the solution is pure arihtmatic equations, it can be easily adapted in TIA Portal for S7-1200. interpolating measured values with polygon and output of function values

I found som info Ons nonlin function block but these doesn't exist for the 1200. There are some facts to be shared regarding your question: A nonlinear function can be implemented with piecewise linear function , this is the concept we have in different software packages for S7-300/400 even for TIA Portal(PID Advance).If your concept is close the idea explained here (piecewise linear function.gif ) , you can still use my suggested link in the previous post. For TIA Portal, it is possible to convert SCL codes developed in STEP 7 to applicable version in TIA Portal.Have a look here (Wizard for converting SCL source files from V5.x to V1x).You can at least convert the function described HERE and test it in your appllication. Algorithms, functions that are applicable in STEP 7 can be used in S7-1200 if they are compatible and if you have the source code. Please, try and update, Hamid Hosseini

You are right,It is not possible to migrate the whole project without STEP 7 installed and the license.Watch more here What are the prerequisites for migrating STEP 7 V5.x projects to STEP 7 (TIA Portal)? What I can do here , to provide you an SCL source file that you can import it easily in your project.Please wait until I upload the SCL source file. update: check the attached file and update! Control Boy Posts: 60 Rating: (0)	Hi, Making progress........ I have a compile error on FC50. The1200 system doesn't like Block_DB data type....apparantly the S7-300 is ok?
