Normally Distributed I/O or Remote I/O station is called for those stations that are placed in the field with severial I/O modules and without a CPU. There is just an interface module for each station. And the CPU is in the central cabinet. If you have in all these station a CPU, and there is a communication between them, then we can not call it distributed I/O.

Mainly same thing,BUT I think distributed and remote I/O´s difference could be thatexmpl. there is two systems(plc´s) with distributed io´s. andplc´s cancommunicate and use remote(other plc´s)io´s??
