i had a project to communicate with a power device that supports only DNP 3.0 serial, and i have searched SIEMENS products and i didn't find a module like a CP that function as DNP 3.0 master.

i found only that i have to buy a WinCC with Telecontrol with DNP functionality, and this not applicable to my design.

the only solution was to get a third party DNP master converter with modbus RTU:

power device "DNP 3.0 as a slave"

the converter as DNP 3.0 Master

and the PLC communicates with a converter as modbus.

I hope my message will be seen by SIEMENS, and to put it into their plan and develop a new module that can be a DNP master and connected to S7-1200 series.

yes probably only via Modbus, but there are other solutiuons too:

Only what I think why Siemens didn't incorporate this is not still standard protocol, therefore 3-party gateways are needed. Only my opinion.

Yes fully agreed with you, i already purchased, configured, and installed the module from ProSoft.
