Hello ELS what are your DNP3 slaves ? With WinCC V7.0 , you can use Telecontrol server option. Just Check : S7-based Telecontrol via DNP3 Protocol WinCC/TeleControlI don't think these are released for WinCC Professional TIA. Pl Check with your Siemens Contact. Otherwise you may have touse a Third party DNP3 OPC server ( e.g. from MATRIKON or KEPWARE etc ) Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

DearELS DNP3 Protocol is not a common protocol in Siemens communication as Profibus and Modbus; despite of this Siemens in the few past years has started to add this protocol to its packages. You can use one of these products based on your automation system:

Dear Khaled, Thank you for your post. But the question still exist. If I will use CP 1243-1 how I will connect it with WinCC Professional TIA Portal? Using what kind of driver? If you have any idea, please share. Thanks. ELS |

DNP and IEC-60870 are basically Open Standard Telecontrol Protocols so these werenot generally a part of SIMATIC Portfolio. However it was well supported by the Energy Automation ( EA ) group of SIEMENS ( with SICAM ). SIEMENS Automation usually promoted SINAUT ( A Siemens properiotry Protocol ) for Telecontrol applications. DNPhas beenmore popular inNorth / South America & Australia while IEC is moreor less becoming a de-facto standard in rest of the world. Of late, Siemens Automation Group has increasingly been promoting support of Telecontrol protocl using SIMATIC range. We see this in the form of new CPs, Development of SIPLUS-RIC for IEC COmmunication using SIMATIC and Telecontrol Server . This has letto an increased usage ofSIMATIC hardware in Telecontrol . HiELS If you want to use CP 1243-1 you will have an integrated project that you will use an S7-1200 CPU which will gather all required data from CP1243-1 and send it to WinCC. To configure CP1243-1 and make all required setting have a look to this manual:SIMATIC NET S7-1200 - CP 1243-1 DNP3, CP 1243-1 IEC Operating Instructions
