Hi,

I'm using a SIMATIC HMI, KTP700 Basic panel (6AV2123-2GB03-0AX0) and programming it with TIA Portal V16.

From my experience, when the Sm@rtServer is activated and is running, a License Dialog box appears (every once in a while) to remind me that "License key is not available! WinCC Sm@rtServer for SIMATIC Basic Panel". The smartserver feature works, but when that dialog box appears, you are requirred to click the Noted button. See the attachment.

According to info from Siemens, the panel "contains open-source software, which is provided free of charge".

Someone in this forum pointed out that a license, 6AV2107-0CR00-0BB0, is needed.

I'm not sure what is going on. Is it a bug or a feature? Do I need a license or not? Did I miss something?
