DO or AO enabled while CPU goes to STOP

Rizal Dwi Listio Posts: 77 Rating: (0)	Is there a way to make DO or AO enabled while CPU goes to STOP? Because every time we download a program to PLC, it will make CPU goes to STOP right? I want to keep the output on while download a program. Thank you all,

Hello Rizal just to be clear, only HWconfig and NetPro download require a CPU restart (downloading ofFC's, FB's,etc are/can bedone in RUN mode and do NOT require a CPU restart). Rizal Dwi Listio Is there a way to make DO or AO enabled while CPU goes to STOP? Yes there is, it is called "Configuration in Run" (or CIR,to be precise, this way you actually avoid a CPU STOP and achieve what you want to achieve). You can find out more about in this manual: Modifying the System during Operation via CiR Alternatively (and this is a "nasty" way), certain DQ and AQ modules(the dearer ones) support the "Keep Last value" and/or "Substitute value" fetaure when the CPUgoes into Stop. You could use this "feature" BUT be aware of the ramifications for your Plant control should your PLC (for whatever reasons) NOT start up anymore after the download!!! Ihope this helps

If so, follow these steps: 1. Obviously the PLC must to be in Stop mode 2. Open a Variable table in SIMATIC Administrator. 3. Use the menu command Variable > Enable Peripheral Outputs to switch on the "Enable Peripheral Outputs" mode 4. Fill the output addresses and values desired values in theVaraibletable (not valid for bit addresses, only B, W and D) 5. Use the menu command Variable > Activate Modify Values to modify the peripheral outputs. 6."Enable Peripheral Outputs" remains active until you select the menu command Variable > Enable Peripheral Outputs again to switch off this function. 7.To assign new values, start again with step 4.
