Do Scalance clients support mesh-like network architecture?

Donato Azevedo Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi gents, I would like to know if Scalance Clients (W-74x) support mesh-like network in the sense that I would not need repeaters to cover distant clients. Just to explain what I understand by mesh-like: it means that if a clients is not in the range of the Access Point, but is in the range of other client, this "other" client acts as a bridge to link the far away client to the AP. Moreover, mesh like topologies would also serve the purpose of redundancy in communication paths. (let's say this far away client can be "bridged" to the AP through two or more other clients within its range). Thanks in advance.

jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, The normal way to cover larger areas is to place several APs, and the clients are roaming between these APs.Normally the APs are connected to the fixed network (acting as distribution systetem DS). But you can also interconnecta limited amount ofAPs wireless byconfiguring aso called WDS (wireless distribution system). Can be a solution to cover areas where you cannot bring fixed network. Look at the manual for the restrictions when using WDS.
