I have the similar situation as described above.  TIA vs 15,1, WinCC Pro etc.  We need to install vs 17 only for the use of acessing PLC's that are part of an OEM package.  The visualization is handeled by a different supplier.  My question is:  Does a stand alone copy exist of Step7 TIA v17 that I can install?  This would alow me to keep my WinCC vs 15 that is currently used to develope visulaisations in the plant. 

Note I have just spent alot of time opening fire wall ports so don't really want to create another virtual server for TIA vs 17 if it can be avoided.  Is the option of removing vs 15--> installing vs 17 --> removing only the wincc v17 component--> reinstalling vs 15

I will have a look at what the Advance package involves, hopefully the solution exists to be able to connect to PLC's that use v15 and other PLC's on v17  

Just to give a conclusion to this thread I confirm that by installing only one TIA version XX as "Professional" and the other as "Advanced/Basic" allowed me to have both Portals installed on the same Operating System.  Thanks all for your help on this.
