Hi experts! Easy question: I have a relativity short software but with a lot of DBs in a CPU 1214C that's have 100kb of work memory. If I put a memory card in it, do will be possible to save all DBs (or the wrole program) in the memory card and run from the memory card, or the memory card will only work as "backup" for the program? Maybe I'm needing some help to understand the manual... Manual: Usage of S7-1200 Memory Card1 Introduction of S7-1200 memory card
Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Dear Letedesque, if the CPU-1200 is used with a SMC as program card, the complete project data are stored on the SIMATIC memory card. The SMC extends the load memory, for example if the integrated load memory of 4MB is not enough. The work memory is a different memory area. Work memory is volatile storage for some elements of the user project while executing the user program. The CPU copies some elements of the project from load memory into work memory. This volatile area is lost when power is removed, and is restored by the CPU when power is restored. The work memory is an integrated memory and could not be extended with a SMC. Using a memory card: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/91696622/52578254987 regards |
