Doubt on preset value of TONR timer

Jebil Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I have S7 1200 CPU-1214c and HMI KTP400 color PN. Iam using TIA portal V11 sp3. I am changing Preset value of a TONR timer using HMI.But i had given like T#25S for PT(hadr coded value).So after one time even after entering value tru HMI, value again sets to 25seconds itself. Could anyone please explain how to set a preset value based on HMI input itself. %MW will work?please explain

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 3/21/2025 Posts: 15745 Rating: (2490)	Put a tag (say, TONR_PT_TAG)with a default value of 25s as the PT input to your TONR. Then point your HMI tag TONR_PT_TAG. This may not have the exact effect you want, but it is a step in the right direction. The hard-coded PT input value will override any timer db changes.

Timer1 should point to plc tag "Tag_PT_TONR1", not the instance db PT value. The instance DB PT is a read-only attribute. Sure, you can write to it, but the value will immediately be overwritten by the current value of "Tag_PT_TONR1"
