Download for LOGO! 8.3 Software Upgrade

I purchased a brand new Logo! and the Logo! Soft Comfort software. Due to supply problems had to wait 2 weeks for the Logo! to arrive. Then found that the Logo! Soft Comfort Software Version 8.2.1 does not connect to the Logo! and gives the error message "Unable to access the remote device". Many hours trying to find out why the device was not connecting. Tried all the different IP addresses and connecting the Logo! to different networks, began wondering if the unit was broken before finding buried on the forum that Logo! Soft Comfort 8.2.1 is incompatible with Logo! and version 8.3 of the software was required.

I had to apply for export-restricted software via the Siemens approval system. After waiting 5 days I have been rejected as shown below.

- Official company name including the legal form (for example GmbH, AG, KG, Ltd., Plc., LLC, Corp., Inc., etc.), or with the official name of your university/college.

I have reapplied by adding the information as above, and I presume that I will have to wait a further 5 days to find out if my approval is accepted.

Thank goodness that I do not have a client waiting for this system.

If my approval is rejected I will have a PLC which is useless to me. I will have to use a PLC supplied by another manufacturer and purchase new programming software.

Siemens you have a very nice PLC in the Logo!, please do not stifle its use and adoption by not allowing the software required to programme it to be unobtainable by legitimate users.

Please also add a clear note that the version of the software supplied on the Siemens Logo! Soft Comfort DVD is incompatible with the latest Logo! PLC's unless it is upgraded.

When, after the release of the update in November, I also started to apply for downloading, but the technical support of Siemens also asked me to fix one thing, fix another. In the second half of January, they simply interrupted communication. I had a stock of 20 old-style controllers, but it is already running out and soon I will also have to look for a new version. And in 2017, when 8.2 was released , everything was the same.
