I am using Siemens Tia Portal V16 & KTP 700 Basic.

TIA Portal is giving error "Download failed due to missing panel image".

I downloaded the necessary images files for version 16.0 and placed it inside the software directory as per the instruction given on the link below

HMI is already program using tia portal v13 and now I want to use it with v16. I can access the device but when I go for downloading this error stops me.

Perhaps you can try to perform an OS update, see the following link:

And use the image of version 16.

I think there should be something else which i am missing? Like this hmi was already programmed from another system using tia portal v13. Now I have licenced v16, and I am receiving this error on v16. 

Maybe I am not adding the images properly or not getting the problem???

May this message find you in good health.

The HMI devices has firmware loaded that matches the WinCC version. WinCC V16 does not include the firmware for V13 in the default installation. The older firmwares can be added.

Without the older firmwares the WinCC software does not know how to handle the older firmware loaded HMI. Adding the firmware files will help solve the issue. (I have not tested this yet)

The alternative is to load the firmware that matches WinCC V16 onto the HMI. This is what the expert Mr Wizard is suggesting. You will use the Prosave software for this task. (It was installed with WinCC without you knowing it.)

I encourage you to take the actions suggested by Mr Wizard.

Secondly, WINCC unified is installed automatically when we install tia portal right? I searched for prosave but found nothing?
