Downloading from starter to SINAMICS S120 CU 320

Miki Rapaic Posts: 42 Rating: (0)	Hi I have a problem concerning sinamics S 120 and starter software.... I'm using starter software 4.0.. and with this i created my project... The problem is next: I'm trying to load this project to CU 320 using RS 232 port but I can't establish the communication ... I tried withRS 232cable, PG/PC settings (USS...) but i couldn't get it right.... My questions are next: Which cable should I use ...? What should I set for PG/PC (USS) ?? What transfer rate should i set (9600) ?? We wont to use PROFIBUS communication after we download project (is this a problem) ? Do I have to set anything else on S 120 or Starter 4.0 before going online ? Is there anything elese to do or set ??? I hope someone can help me with this, i really need this informations.... P.S Strange, we prepared entire project and we can't do anything beforewe fix this And our provider said we could download this just fine using RS 232 port and cable we used withG 110

Drives_Coach Posts: 133 Rating: (12)	Sorry I could not attach the application guide for this but site kept erroring on me when I tried to upload. This is the just of it. I have done this before and found it slow compared to Profibus for connection to CU310 or CU320. A null modem cable is what I used. 1. In STARTER, from Project > Set PC/PG interface, select the Serial cable (PPI) interface. If this is not available from the dropdown list, you first have to add it using Select. Note: If the interface cannot be added to the selection menu, the driver for the serial interface has to be installed. The STARTER must not be active when installing the driver. 2. Enter the following settings. The "0" address and the transmission rate of 19.2 kbit/s are important here. 3. On CU310/CU320, set bus address "3" on the Profibus address switch. 4. When setting up the drive unit, also set bus address "3". Note: The bus addresses on CU310/CU320 and on the PC must not be set the same. 5. G150: The connecting cable from CU320 to AOP30 must be ground off on CU320. A null modem cable must be connected up here as a link between the PC (COM interface) and CU320. This interface must not be changed.

Anguraj Posts: 56 Rating: (0)	Hai Mr.Miki, I think Sinamics RS232 only for Operator display. For Starter commissioning Either Profibus or Ethernet via you have to do the commissioning. Bye..
