Hello, for the download of an updated Code for STEP 7 (TIA Portal) you need the software in this regard. Please find also the information in the FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/42637263 With best regards |

Thank you for the suggestion.. However the real question is not for making a download while you are "close" to the PLC. It is not about local download; it is about "remote" work: TIA PORTAL >>>>> INTERNET LINK >>>>>> PLC The answer is port forwarding.. but that is all I know. Greetings. w |

Thanks for that idea. There might be another option. The newest Siemens Automation Tool [LINK] has the ablity to download a program to the S7-1200 without having TIA Portal installed. I have tried it once for testing on a previous update of the current version. It works a little bit strange.. and I can't remember all the steps. You prepare the downloadable file with TIA by "downloading" via your SD card reader to a (normal) SD card. The file that is created on the SD card can then be sent to your client. The client uses Siemens Automation Tool to load the file into the PLC. - - or something like that. Greetings. w |
