Hello mohit; I hope I understand your question correctly. You must make an effort to be clearer, and give more details: what do you need the module for, what type of project do you plan to use it in... In any case: The DP/As-i link is a communication gateway provided by Siemens so data from an As-i network can be transfered over a Profibus-DP bus to the CPU. This is useful when you already have a Profibus-DP network, and you do not want to put a As-i master card in the CPU rack. Siemens calls these elements "network transitions"; they provide for example DP/DP couplers, DP/RS-232 links, DP/PN proxys.... Here is some further information on the DP/As-i link: From the A&D Mall:

It features the following functions: • PROFIBUS DP slave and AS-Interface master • Connection of up to 62 AS-Interface slaves and integrated analog value transmission (according to extended AS-Interface Specification V3.0) • Support of all AS-Interface master functions according to AS-Interface Specification V3.0, i.e. master profile M4 • LEDs on the front panel to indicate the functional readiness of the connected AS-i slaves and to display the status (configuration mode, AS-Interface power failure, configuration errors, etc.) • Supplied from the AS-Interface line; therefore no additional power supply required • Supports uploading of the AS-interface configuration in STEP 7 V5.2 or higher Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
