Hello ggs24 not too sure if I can give you a straigthforward answer, but I'll try to at least outline a couple ofdifferent possibilities that you may have. Theare in principle two different ways to read/write more values to/from a drive than what is available via the "normal" cyclic data (aka PZD or Process data). 1.) Use the PKW data area (aka Parameter data). This is a 4 Word long pre-defined area which is part of PPO type 1, 2 & 5, but not available in PPO 4 which is what you have. The PKW area is part of the "normal" cyclic data and can be used to read or write the value of ONE parameter at a time. 2.) Use Dataset 47 which all drives that are compliant with the Profidrive profile support. This requires acyclic communciation (DPV1 is required) and allows you read/write a number of parameters with one request. SFC58/59 (Profibus only) and/or SFB52/53 (Profibus or Profinet) are used in an S7 for this purpose. Below is alinks with more info on this subject and while it refersto Siemens drives, the principle in itis generallyapplicable. Note too the additional example links at the end of the pdf (you'll also findquite a fair few forum posts concenring this subject). How do I read / write parameters using PROFIBUS I hope this helps |
