Hello viveks; A DP/DP coupler is used when you need to exchange data (240 Bytes IN/OUT max.) between 2 Profibus-DP masters. Since you configure each of the 2 ports of the DP/DP coupler as a slave to one DP master, it will work every time (if you respect the minmum configuration rules, see the following FAQ:) http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22327981 To setup the DP/DP coupler as a slave to your Yokogawa Profibus-DP master, you will need the gsd file of the DP/DP coupler, which you can download here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/113602 Simply import the gsd file for the DP/DP coupler in the Yokogawa's Profibus configuration software and follow the recommendations of the first link. Do the same with the S7-400 master and check out the data transfer between the 2 masters. You would only need the Yokogawa's gsd file (for its Profibus module) if you needed to set it up as a slave to a DP-master (in this case your S7-400). The DP/DP coupler would not be useful in this case. So, before we continue, which will it be? Yokogawa as DP-master (in which case you configure one port of the DP/DP copupler as a slave to it) or as DP-slave? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
