DP/DP Coupler in Netpro + diagnostics over ethernet

All,

I have a master PLC that communicates with another Master PLC using a DP/DP Coupler.(6ES7-158-0AB01-0XA0).

One of those 2 PLC's has a CP card that allows me to connect and monitor using the Ethernet interface.
Is it possible to monitor the other PLC through the DP coupler?

In have placed both CPU's in the same project. In netpro it does show 2 couplers, but is doesn't show that those are connecting the 2 profibus networks.

I haven't downloaded anything yet. Wanted to find out if this could work or not. I am not sure but i think this works with MPI.

Hello Koenraad;

When you work with Siemens documentation, it is sometimes difficult to determine which modules do not support certain functions, because they are not mentioned In the "supported modules" tables.

If it not explicitly mentioned, the function is not supported. You have to learn and live with this mindset.

In the case of routing functions and a DP/DP coupler, you can see (with a bit of search) that it is not included in any of the routing list of this FAQ:

Which modules support the "S7 Routing" function in S7 subnets?

So we should deduce that it will not help in your project, at least not in the way you are asking.

I did not realize that this process was called routing, so at least i learned something.
