Hello jeetendra; To establish communications between 2 DP masters (whatever manufacturers prodiuces them) you only need to configure the exchanges properly in the Profibus cinfiguration iof each master. You need to start by importing the gsd file for the DP/DP coupler in the ABB Profibus configurator; you will find it here: PROFIBUS GSD files - Siemens Industry Online Support Notethat the product manual is always a great source of information: Next, in each master's configuration insert a DP/DP coupler, each with a different address, as configured on the Coupler itself. Next for each master configure the data top be exchanged, look at the following threads discussing the linking of a S7 PLC with a 3rd-party master to understand hopw it is done: ABB master: exchange real data type using DP/DP coupler with ABB dc communicate ABB DCS system with OUR S7 400 DCS system via DP/DP coupler Communicate ABB AC450 and s7 300 via dp / dp coupler Allen-Bradley master: Profibus communication through Siemens DP/DP Coupler to Allen Bradley PLC SST Profibus Module GE master: monitor I/Os of a DP/DP coupler Hope this helps, DanielChartier |

Hello jeetendra; A DP/DP coupler is used to connect 2 Profibus-DP masters and alllows them to exchange data, If you choose to use no additional hardware (no coupler, no Profibus CP 342-5), the only way to connect the Profibus-DP port of the S7 CPU to your DCS is to configure it as a Profibus-DP slave, configure the DCS as a Profibus-DP master and configure data exchanges between the two. You can setup exchanges of a maxium of 244 bytes IN and 244 bytes OUT between master and slave, and you must use the input/output addresses of the CPUs to do so: if you have the data in a DB for example, you must copy the data to/fropm the DB to the declared IO area for the Profibus-DP slave. The following link shows various configurations for a S7-315 as a Profibus slave and master: What master/slave communication options are available on PROFIBUS DP? Look specially at the first one, it describres how a S7-315 can act as a DP-slave to a S5 DP-master, so it will give you an idea of how to configure your own system (the S5 CPUs act as a third-party processor in this example, with a totally different Profibus configurator and programming software, so you can consider it an analogue of your ABB DCS). Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello jeetendra; Here you have a working link to the FAQ: What master/slave communication options are available on PROFIBUS DP? You do not state what solution you are looking for, please come back to the forum if you do not find what you need in the provided link. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
