Dear Experts For one of Plant we are using DP-DP Coupler to interface to Plant DCS with our S7 300.Also we are using to interface 03 nos. of Flowmeters on DP 1 networkie. network between S7 300.DP-DP coupler is to interface with S7 300 and not to the Flow meters. DP2 network is connected to DCS. We have attached the configuration drawing here. Following are the quiries requested: 1)Does this configuartion is correct? 2)Flowmeters is only required for S7 300 PLC.In that case how to map / configure in S7 HW Config? Kindly advice/suggest on above queries at earliest. Thanks Palani S AttachmentDP-DP Coupler Configuration.zip (371 Downloads) |

Hello Palani, Look at attachment. I don't know what kind of S7-300 CPU you'll use, but let's do this separating into CPU. Means Input of Profibus connector will be Profibus line with 3 flowmeters like CPU slave. The output in Profibus connector connect to Profibus line with DP/DP coupler.( Also is possible even to separate both networks in separate CPU' DP ports, of course if CPU have it). In hardware configuration this all will looks in one line. You will have 3 Flow meters plus one DP/DP coupler. About Flow meters, when you insert them into Profibus line, just remember their addresses. Leave them by default. About DP/DP coupler, it depends how many words you will exchange. But the logic is the same. Look at attachment in example configuration. Regards AttachmentDP.zip (352 Downloads) |

Absolutely You'll need to get the so called "GSD" file from the flowmeter manufacturer (should be available as a download from theirwebpage). Import the GSD file into Step7 HWconfig (to be found under the "Options" menuin HWconfig). Once installed it will appear under "Additional Field Devices" in the Profibus DP section from which you drap and droponto your S7 Profibus and configure like any other DP Slave (i.e.I/O modules, addresses & parameters). I hope this helps |
