DP Masters cannot see any slave modules IM 153-2

scorpio888 Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	This is how my configuration is... I have 2 414-4H CPU v4.0.11 for redundant purpose. Program is downloaded to the CPUs and they're running fine in redundant mode EXCEPT they cannot see any slaves connected to the DP network. I have 3 ET 200M IM 153-2 (6ES7 153-2BA02-0XB0) with various DO,DI, AI,AO modules. Each of the IM 153-2 is a node itselt connected to each other via FOC using OLM/G12 V4.0 (6GK1 503-3CB00) modules. I'm not sure how to set the settings of these OLMs. I really need lots of help to establish communication with the slaves ET 200M IM 153-2. I've enclosed a pic of my hardware setting. I went and checked one of the remote node and found out that there WAS NOT any active bus unit mounted to the DIN rail where the IO modules are installed. With this particular ET 200M IM153-2 RED (redundant), I need the active bus unit, am I right??? The ET 200M IM 153-2 requires 6ES7195-7HD10-0XA0 and IO modules require 6ES7195-7HB00-0XA0 (How many???). I have installed IO modules up to 11. Please advice. Thank you, scorpio888

Yes you are right. You need active bus units but for your information, the use of active bus units is not restricted to IM153-2 RED. You have to use them whenever your system require hot swapping (Replacing I/O modules without stopping the IM153-2). So, the active bus units form an uninterruptible back plane bus. scorpio888 The ET 200M IM 153-2 requires 6ES7195-7HD10-0XA0 and IO modules require 6ES7195-7HB00-0XA0 (How many???) For integrating 2 IM 153-2, you will need a single 6ES7195-7HD10-0XA0. For I/O modules, there are 2 kinds of active bus units, 1- 6ES7195-7HB00-0XA0for integrating 2 modules of 40 mm width. 2- 6ES7195-7HC00-0XA0for integrating one module of 80 mm width. If all module are of 40 mm width, then you need one bus unit for each couple. To check it,open hardware configuration >double click the IM153-2 HF > go to the operating parametersand check the required active bus units. Best regards. scorpio888 Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	H-H, Again, thank you so much for your prompt response. I have attached a pic of the the IM153-2 Operating Parameters. Looks like I need 4 bus units (2x40)for the IO modules and 1 bus unit BM IM/IM for 2 IM 153-2 modules, 2 PS PS307; 2A. Since I have 3 nodes that have similar setup, I just multiply by 3 to get the total. Just submitted the order to the purchasing department for processing. scorpio888 Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Thanks Wizard. We already have the DIN rails (530mm) mounted inside each panel already. The problems were that we didn't have the bus modules for the IMs and the IO modules. We just mounted these on the DIN rails without the bus modules and hence, I coudn't access the IMs via S7 program. When I select the IM 153-2 and go to PLC tab, and select Module Information, I couldn't get the module info. At the same time, I see red LED lights on the IMs BF1 and BF2 lights are on and flashing. Inside my PLC cabinet, I see red LED BF2 lights are flashing on both of my CPUs 414-4H Now, I'm waiting to recieve my hardware and go from there. Also, there are red LED SF on my 2 AO modules are lit as well (a pic attached). Am I missing anything else??? Are there additional hardware that I should order??? Please advise. Are there additional hardware that I should order??? I am sorry, but I see no pic. attached But if the AO modules are in ET200M rack, the SF could be lit because of Configuration/programming error. I must admit I forgot to warn you about therails you have and I hope you have already taken care of this matter. scorpio888 Thanks Wizard. We already have the DIN rails (530mm) mounted inside each panel already. I hope you already know that there are 2 kinds of 530mm rails. 1-6ES7390-1AF30-0AA0 which is suitable only for U-Shaped back plane bus. 2- 6ES7195-1GF30-0XA0which is suitable for active bus units. You can see in the attached PDF(extracted from ET200M operating instructions) that this rail has a different profile to the other rail. scorpio888 Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Thanks H-H. Thank God that we had installed 6ES7195-1GF30-0XA0DIN rails. So these rails should accomodate the active bus modules as you pointed out. Shipment of hardwaresis here already BUT it's Friday So off for the weekend. On Monday, I'm gonna be busy installing and setting up the system. I'll keep you guys posted how things go.
