Hello Ufa If you only use a PA coupler (FDC157), your DP speed MUSTbe setto 45.45 kbps and there's nothing you can do about this. If you want to run your DP bus at higher speeds, you need to use a DP/PA link (IM153-2 plus one or up to five FDC157next to it). Have a look at How do you set up the DP/PA link and how do you configure the DP/PA link and DP/PA coupler? for more on these two options. In case you decide to gofora DP/PA link, the "Future of Automation" (aka TIA Portal) throws another little spanner in the works as it does NOT allow the user friendly integration like "classic" Step 7 V5.x does (go figure, and I haven't lost hope thatthe TIA Portal developers will wake up one day and change this). Instead, you'll need to do a GSD file based integration (rather clunky and cumbersome in this case) and will find the instructions on howtodo so atHow do you configure the DP/PA link or the Y link in the external master / STEP 7 V12 (TIA Portal)? I hope this helps |

Hello Ufa ok, I understandyour predicament now and is this is strange indeed. I just did a quick TIA Portal V13 test and end up with the same error as you (i.e. selecting 45.45 kbps for the IM151-8 DP Master interface module 6ES7138-4AH00-0AB0 is NOT permissible for whatever kind of weird and wonderful reasons). The same configuration works perfectly well though if done in "classic" Step 7 V5.x, sounless someone else out there has another idea I'd put this down as an "undocumented feature" of TIA Portal. I suggest you start a Support Request and keep updated as and when news comes to hand. |

Hello Ufa including the FDC157 PA coupler in the S7 HWconfig is optional (do so if you wish to access its Diagnostic data) unless you use PA ring redundancy (which requires two PA couplers). In either case, you are correct, the PA devices are dragged directly onto the "Profibus" line (the PA coupler is transparent for the DP Master so the PA devices appear to the DP Master as if they were DP Slaves). Have a look at chapter 7 of the SIMATIC Bus links DP/PA coupler, active field distributors, DP/PA Link and Y Link for more in this and note chapter 4.1 too which has the installations variants. I hope this helps |
