Hello. I have When I run motor identification, I get an error: 7982 : Drive: Rotating measurement encoder test(7) p0408=1024 The values of r479 r482 (actual position) per one revolution are 2 ^ 21 (1024 * 2048). It is not clear to me why not 1024. Counting working right? I understand that I receive the wrong number of pulses from the encoder. I can not find an error. What could be the problem? [snip] Thank you. P.S. I read https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/WW/en/posts/drive-commissioning-error/20537?page=0&pageSize=10 AttachmentFiles.zip (415 Downloads) |

In the configuration, temporarily change the control / feedback strategy from <whatever> + encoder to <whatever> + encoderless. Commission as much as you can without the encoder for feedback. The encoder A/B direction could be reversed. You can adjust it in drive configuration using Drive Navigater -> Encoder and invert the encoder signal. Or, you can swap A/-A & B/-B (and Z/-Z). Turn the shaft one revolution, or as close as you can to one revolution. Monitor the encoder raw input and calculate the difference in pulses. If you have approximately the correct PPR for the encoder configuration (quadrature or single channel for example), the wiring and encoder are ok. If there is something wrong with the count or it seems to count strangely, verify the wiring, maybe even using an o-scope.

I think it might come in handy.
