H.J.R Experienced Member Joined: 3/21/2012 Last visit: 1/17/2022 Posts: 129 Rating: (0)	Dear sir, i want to commission a one CNC Turning machine with a 828D controller (PPU240). but i don't have a "HMI STARTUP TOOL" software to configuring Drives(X,Z&SP). So, can i do it without a software by using a 828D HMI screen to commission the drives as per our requirement. If yes, how to configure...you have any documentation?????? Thanking you sir

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (473)	Hello, HMI Startup tool is used only for assigning the NC axis only....Not requried for Drive Commissioining Yes you can do with out the software when drive datas are not there you get a error messgae" Commissioinng of Drives are requried" Just press yes automatically drives get commissioined by it self. Thanks once again for your appreciation support..... Can assign a Servo drive(Single Motor Module) belongs to X-axis(X), DMM drive asign to Y & Z-axis & encoder belongs to X-axis like that by using a 828D Screen itself without using a "HMI STARTUP TOOL" software.....???????????

You have in the Single motor module you have the Encoder port X202 port where you can connect you X axis encoder cable here right,,, You can assign the enocder without HMI startup tool....but you are trying that is not clear...
