Drive tripped on F 8501 fault

Usually this happens when the PLC is going to stop mode (e.g. for a download) and interrupts sending values to the drive. The remedy is just to acknowledge the fault, when the PLC is running again.

We just had this fault and even though the PLC was running the fault could not be reset. We had fault indication on 2 of the cards on the safety PLC which we had to restart the PLC to remove. Once the PLC was running without faults the fault on the drive could be reset too. RB91 Hi, F8501 means that the cyclic communication to the PLC was lost. Usually this happens when the PLC is going to stop mode (e.g. for a download) and interrupts sending values to the drive. The remedy is just to acknowledge the fault, when the PLC is running again.

We have tried just about everything we know of and continue to have multiple trips per day. The drive has to be cycled in order to reset.
