Dynamic Symbolic IO field WinCC Unified V17

I'm doing a project that has a connection to a SQL server and I have to read the vars from there. Thatt part is done and working correctly ( writing directly to trace viewer) . Now I have to take those vars and write it to a text list or something like that so that it appears on a symbolic IO field.

Is there any way to do this in WinCC unified V17??

Maybe you can show us your code so we can understand how you read the data.

• Did you write the script in the "Global module" tab?
• Did you use a promise in your function?
• How do you call the function to read the database?

Of course the solution from rdoliveira is a good idea, here an alternative solution a little bit more complex but more flexible:

• In the Global function create a script to read from Database, you can take the code from my previous post Here
• Then you can call the function to read from a button always following the solution on my previous post
• The you will have an array of result and you can use a CWC to display those on a HTML Select element that will automatically adapt the list based on the number of item.
• You can find an example here

Of course it is a little bit more complicated, but now you can have a dynamic element that will fit your necessities.
