Hi,

Does anyone know a way to change the graphic of a faceplate graphic view dynamically using script in V17 update 1?

I've tried the example from the release notes below but it only works when the graphic view is in a screen:

please try with upd2 and the following syntax for the Graphics Name:

"GraphicColleciton.GraphicName_V_0_0_1"

This worked for me.

Out of curiosity, did I miss something in the documentation or was it a hidden bit of syntax that you discovered?

And just to clarify for others who see this, in a faceplate the exact line of code is:

 I think I´m trying something similar, where do you put that script? 

Inside of the template editor itself, then clicking on the specific button, then properties > general > graphic > change ?

I was struggling with a similar problem and finally managed to solve it. So here is my 2 cents to the forum.

V18 allows you to use Graphics in the property interface.

But if you want to use picture in a faceplate popup you have to have it already used in the project some place else. If not the picture does not work. This information was buried in the wincc system manual.

Application of graphic objects in runtime

Only those graphic objects which are referencedat least once, for example as an object

reference in a script, are loaded in runtime. The assignment of a tag and the referencing of the

tags does not function.

Example of correct referencing of a graphic object in a script:

Screen.Items("Grafikanzeige_1").Graphic =

HMIRuntime.Resources.Graphics("GraphicCollection.Up_Arrow").Name;

First I put my pictures to the library so I can use typed pictures.
Then I made  a dummy page as a graphics storage.

After that the graphics calls work fine.

Here is the pop up code:

let data = {PLC_UDT_ProportionalValve:{Tag:"MyUDTtag"}, NameOfTheGraphicProperty:"GraphicCollection.NameOfthePictureInLibrary_V_0_0_1"};

let po = UI.OpenFaceplateInPopup("FP_PressurePropValve_V_0_0_1", "title", data);

po.Left = item.Left;

po.Top = item.Top;

po.Visible = true;
