EasySCreen- editing Data Block data

Clive Thorne Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hello there. I've been working with EasyScreen intermitently for several months and have managed to get it to do most of what I want. What I now want to do is to be able to edit information in a data block. The data block is structured as an array (about 200 long) of UDTs. The UDT has 2 separate byte of numerical data and 16 bits of boolean data. Since there are a lot of 'records' I wont be able to display it all at once and thought of using a "Grid" for this, with its scrolling table display. For a test I got grid working for R parameters, but cannot get it to work with data from a Data Block. The sort of effect I'm after is: NAME COL1 COL 2 COL3 COL4 COL5 (Byte) (Byte) (Bool) (Bool) (Bool) "Line 1" 20 15 0 1 1 "Line 2" 9 7 1 0 0 " " " " " " " " " " " " "Line n" 0 2 1 1 1 So the questions are: Can I use a Grid to give indexed access to a Data Block, and if so how? If not does anyone have any ideas other than doing it long hand? This will be an engineering tool rather than an end user feature, so a quick and dirty solution would be fine. APC Tech Team Posts: 391 Rating: (50)	Hello, in the attachment there are a couple of examples tested on Sinumerik Operate 4.5 SP2: param_grid uses a GRID to display BYTES and BOOLS Please note that the manual states that the values in the table should be of the same type, so this example is out of standard.... but it seems to work param_index is an alternative to the GRID: you define an additionalvariable and use it as an index to scroll through the values. You can add more input fields to the page to have more variables and minimize the need for scrolling. DB100 was declared asan array of 100 INT (i.e. 200 bytes), but the example works also with structures becauseyou always have to use the absolute address of the variable anyway. I've tried both methods and both are very powerful. For my application I think I'll be using the "Indexing" method. Although I had read the manual sections about string programming (ie "<<") I hadn't quite realised how powerful it could be. Something I'll be using more often. Thanks and regards, Clive Thorne.
