Encoder LL 861 or HOG10 (built in) differences?

_oleksandr_ Bronze Member Joined: 4/2/2016 Last visit: 7/13/2022 Posts: 413 Rating: (6)	Hi, Some motors (e.g. 1PQ8..) can be ordered with encoder two options LL 861 900 220 (option H70) Or HOG 10 D 1024 (option H73) What is the main difference between these encoders? Which is better to order forfor difficult operating conditions(rolling mill, stands)?

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 12/3/2024 Posts: 5954 Rating: (819)	Dear _oleksandr_, both encoders can be found in the Catalog D81.1 (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109749197). The LL encoder is "G04", the HOG encoder as "G06". Both are heavy duty encoders., G04 from LeineLinde G06 from Baumer. Directly from the Catalog: G04 offerst IP65, G06 IP66. G06 offers a higher temperatur range. Depends on the application.and the conditions they are used in.

HOG 10 D 1024 l rotary pulse encoder This encoder is extremely rugged and is therefore suitable for difficult operating conditions. It is fitted with insulated bearings. so the difference is that HOG 10 "more robust" than LL 861?
