Dose any body know how can I specify the direction of encoder rotation in hsc  s7-1200?

Hi ACDC24,

After activating HSC, go under function properties then select ( Operating Phase: Single Phase ).

This way will ensure one pulse unidirectional counting with a direction which is controlled by HSC_CONTROL, you can also determine the direction either internally or by using external input as your demands.

Linking into Ahmed's notes - Software tells the HSC the direction of counting when using one pulse. If there are two pulses configured to an HSC, the direction is automatic.

HELP :: TIA Portal :: CTRL_HSC

The CTRL_HSC instruction controls the direction for the single pulse HSC.
Count direction (NEW_DIR): The count direction defines whether a high-speed counter counts up or down. The count direction is defined by the following values at the NEW_DIR input: 1 = up, -1 = down.

A change to the count direction with the "Control high-speed counter" instruction is only possible when direction control is set in the parameters by the program. The count direction specified at the NEW_DIR input is loaded into a high-speed counter when the bit at the DIR input is set.

Swap the two inputs if the HSC is defined for double pulse and the count direction is wrong.
