EPOS LU CALCULATION

Hello, 
I want to Commission a Transfer Line with Servo Control EPOS. 
I have a doubt for Length unit (LU). 
I dont understand the Meaning of LU per load revolution 
I have studied manual but can not understand the meaning of this term. 
For example if I want to travel 2000 mm and my gear ratio is 10 motor revolution and 1 load revolution . 
How much LU i have to set. How to understand the LU calculation in terms of mm.
please explain by any example for Linear motion and Rotary motion.

I know this is reviving an old chat but i just wanted to know if im doing this right,

I have a problem with backlash on an V90 servo on a liniar axis that when moving in one direction it is fine but then moving it in the oppisite direcction it loses 0.8mm,

i just wanted to know if this calculation is valid for my situation

1 load revolution is 15mm so 15000 lu and the error is 0.8mm when i change dirrection so i calculated that i need to add 1200lu to the parameter P2583 on the v90 drive.

Is this correct?

In P2583 user need to put backlash value in your case 800 lu & in p2604 needs to define direction of axis. Please refer attached sheet.

 After changing the backlash via the driver the value does not save, i introduce the value (800) then press ok then check to see if it has changed and its oke but after i turn the machine off then on again its values are lost,

Does anyone know why???

User need to save parameters permantly in ROM. Please refer attached sheet for detail procedure.

 It is still not saving, i have just seen that the driver is in PTI and the backlash compensation mode is for ipos, is there anyway to compensate the backlash with PTI? i have it connected via an x8 cable to a s7-1200 using tia portal v14

Parameter saving from RAM to ROM is common to all control mode & it must save the parameter in ROM. Please confirm you follow the same procedure & hold the OK key for long time ( display flashes for appr 20 sec & returns to save text.)

Please check the value in P2544 ie. inposition window. If it is 40 means, in your case, position set point & actual value difference must be less than 0.04 mm.

 I meant that my PLC s7-1200 is connected to my v90 via the conector cable x8 (50 pins) using PTI and that it is not connected via ethernet. I asked my technition to hold down the oke button for a couple of secconds to save it but he said that it did nothing.

I am in the south of spain and this machine is in the north, so i have to go there next week to see what the problem is and i will check the value in the parametre p2544
