Equipement in a Profibus Network Go Down

medaadi Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a profibus network that connects 4 equipements: TP177A ----(5m)---- S7-312 over CP342-5 ----(60m)---- OP77A ----(20m)---- OP77B The TP177A go down after some minutes of runing, and i have to shut it down and restart it to be on line again. I checked all connectors and the cable, i don't think that can be the reason. The terminaison is active in TP177A and OP77B nodes. So what is the problem?

Do you have any entries in the diagnostic buffer of the CP or the CPU? If so, please share them here. Does the rest of the network exhibit any problems? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello medaadi, you should observe that the last and first station must be always powered on, because the termination is using pull up/pull down resistors. If you restart a Panel it is not fully guaranteed, that the ASIC is in operation based on reset signal. If this appears your Profibus Network will go down. As response you will have for a short time no communication. As solution for this you can use a active bus termination Bus terminating elements for PROFIBUS subnetworks In your configuration you wrote only panels connected to the network, there are also other stations connected?

medaadi Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hi dchartier, When my ihm go down, i have any diagnostic led in the CPU on, the other ihms who are farther in the network don't display any problem, they stay online. So I must shutdown and power on the panel to be online again! So what do you think?

And for your question, there are any other station connected in the link. Thanks.
